Overview
GOHA BriefMarriott's Grande Vista is a large timeshare-style resort on 164 acres near Orlando's International Drive, with villa-style units that have kitchens and laundry. It describes itself as family-friendly and suits groups and families who want space, pools and a base within reach of the Disney and Universal parks.
The resort opened in 1997 and spreads across 24 Mission-style buildings, making it one of the largest in Marriott's vacation club network. Units are one-, two- or three-bedroom villas, each with a kitchen, laundry machines and a furnished balcony, so it works well if you'd rather cook some meals and settle in for a longer stay.
Much of the time here is spent outdoors. There are heated outdoor pools, including a lap pool, a children's pool with fountains and a splash pad, plus whirlpool spas and an outdoor sauna tower. Down by the lake there's a promenade and a sandy beach area, and the Harbour Master rents out paddleboats and fishing gear. A BBQ and picnic area by the pool is there for cookouts.
For something more active, the on-site Marriott Golf Academy gives lessons, a 9-hole course is nearby, and four illuminated clay-style tennis courts are open to guests. Kids have an activity center with an indoor climbing structure, and daily activities run for all ages. Food and drink include The Grill for casual American and continental dishes, Copa Loca by the pool, cocktails at The Grande Cove, and ice cream and candy at the Lighthouse Sweetery. There's also a spa offering massage, facial and salon treatments.
