GOHA BriefUniversal's Great Movie Escape is a pair of escape-room style adventures at Universal CityWalk, themed on Jurassic World and Back to the Future. One guide recommends it as a date-night outing for couples, and difficulty and group size can be adjusted to fit your party.
The venue sits on the Upper Promenade at Universal CityWalk, in a converted former nightclub styled as an old-fashioned movie house. You walk into a two-story lobby, and there are two bars on site: one in the lobby and one upstairs near the Jurassic World room.
You choose between two separate adventures: Back to the Future: OUTATIME or Jurassic World: Escape. Each one moves through eight themed environments with set pieces inspired by the films. The game itself runs about 50 minutes, and the rooms can nudge your group along if you stall on a puzzle, so you are less likely to get stuck.
What stands out is that each adventure is randomized, so the puzzle solutions can change from one visit to the next. That makes it worth a second go, maybe trying the other film the next time.
