GOHA BriefHoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a country-and-western dinner show at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, running since 1974. It pairs a family-style, all-you-care-to-enjoy meal with about two hours of singing, dancing and comedy. It suits families with young kids and anyone happy to clap along, though one Disney fan blog thinks most teens may not take to it.
The show takes place in Pioneer Hall, a rustic dance hall at Fort Wilderness near Orlando, and it has been a fixture there for about 50 years. Seats are pre-assigned across a main floor and a balcony, and the dress code is casual.
There's no storyline. It's a Wild West song-and-dance revue built on skits and song standards, performed by the Pioneer Hall Players, a troupe of six characters. They walk through the dining room, pull people into jokes and expect you to clap, move your feet and sing along. At the finale, a few guests may be brought up on stage to join the cast.
The food comes to the table family style: fried chicken, barbecue ribs, salad, cornbread and beans, with strawberry shortcake to close the night. Soft drinks, coffee, tea and milk are included, and adults over 21 can also have beer, wine and sangria.
