GOHA BriefWinter Summerland is a miniature golf spot at Walt Disney World with two 18-hole courses, themed as Santa's off-season vacation retreat. Families can pick between a snowy course and a sandy one, and the Winter course is billed as a fun and exciting challenge for the whole family.
Winter Summerland sits in the Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort area, right next to Blizzard Beach water park. It opened on March 12, 1999, and the story behind it is simple: Santa found snow over Florida and built a vacation spot for his off-duty elves, and the only thing missing was a golf course.
There are two 18-hole courses. Summer is the sand course, with ornaments hanging from palm trees and a tropical holiday look. Winter is the snow course, with obstacles like giant peppermints, hockey sticks and the drawbridge of a melting castle.
The Winter course is billed as a fun challenge for the whole family. Watch out for Squirty the snowman, who sprays golfers with water when their balls pass beneath him.
