Overview
GOHA BriefDisney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf has two 18-hole mini golf courses in the EPCOT resort area at Walt Disney World, both based on the animated film Fantasia. The Gardens course suits families and beginners, while the Fairways course is a tougher, more traditional layout for players who want a challenge.
The complex opened on May 20, 1996, and sits across from the Swan and Dolphin hotels. It is close enough to Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Crescent Lake resorts to walk over. While you putt, you can see the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Swan Reserve.
The Gardens course is the playful one. It is built around five whimsical scenes from Fantasia, with tutu-clad hippos, marching broomsticks and pirouetting ostriches, plus twirling obstacles, fountains and musical surprises along the way. It works well for families with small children and anyone new to golf.
The Fairways course looks like a traditional golf course shrunk down. It has sand traps, bunkers, water hazards and sloping greens, with par-3 and par-5 holes running from 63 to 109 feet. Skill matters more than luck here, and it is less suited to families with small children. On either course, cast members help each player pick a club that suits their height and weight and hand out a ball.
