GOHA BriefBig Toho Airboat Rides runs airboat swamp tours on Lake Toho in Kissimmee, with alligators, birds and other Florida wildlife along the way. It suits families and anyone who wants to see nature up close, and it's a short trip from Orlando and Walt Disney World.
Big Toho Airboat Rides sits at 2017 Neptune Road in Kissimmee, off Highway 192 and the Florida Turnpike. From there, airboats head out through natural Florida swamp on Lake Toho. The same operator also offers fishing guide services and separate guided hunting trips around Kissimmee and Central Florida.
Tours come in two lengths: one hour or 90 minutes. The boats use theater-style seating, so every seat has a clear view. Guests usually spot alligators, including some big ones, plus birds and other local wildlife. The crew asks everyone to stay quiet as the boat nears animals, so skip the shouting.
One highlight is a stop where you can pose with a smaller alligator for photos, and there are plenty of other photo chances along the route. Captains are licensed with the United States Coast Guard, and the airboats are inspected and insured.
