Overview
GOHA BriefHyatt Regency Orlando is a large, family-oriented resort hotel on International Drive, a short drive from Universal, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld. It suits families who want a big pool area and theme-park access. It also suits convention-goers, since the hotel connects directly to the Orange County Convention Center.
This 32-story hotel opened in 1986 as The Peabody Orlando and took the Hyatt Regency name in 2013. It sits on International Drive and is directly connected to the Orange County Convention Center, so you can walk over without going outdoors. Orlando International Airport is about 15 minutes away by car.
The pool area is the main draw for families. The lagoon-style Grotto Pool has a waterslide, a splash area and a small children's pool. There is also a separate lap pool for serious swimmers, and the pools are open all year and heated in cooler months. You can reserve a private cabana while the kids join resort activities. Rooms have Hyatt Euro pillowtop beds, minifridges, marble-accented bathrooms and 65-inch streaming TVs. Family Suites sleep up to six.
Food options include Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse, the B-Line Diner, Descend 21 and a 24-hour market. You can also get a drink at Rocks, the lobby bar overlooking the Grotto Pool, or at the poolside bar and grill. In-room dining runs around the clock. There is also a full-service spa and salon and a fitness center listed as open 24 hours.
