Overview
GOHA BriefDisney's Pop Century Resort is a value resort at Walt Disney World, themed to 20th-century American pop culture, with sections for each decade from the 1950s through the 1990s. It suits families and budget-minded visitors, especially those planning to spend time at EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, which the resort reaches directly by Disney Skyliner.
Pop Century opened in December 2003 in the Disney area near ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex and Hourglass Lake. Its motel-style buildings are arranged around Classic Hall, the central building with the front desk, gift shop, arcade and food court. Each section celebrates a decade, marked by oversized icons such as Rubik's Cubes, yo-yos and bowling pins.
Rooms are about 260 square feet and come as Standard or Preferred. The interiors are the same, and Preferred rooms are simply in a closer location. Most have one queen bed plus a queen-size table Murphy bed, and some have one king bed. Meals on site are quick-service at Everything POP Shopping & Dining, which takes Mobile Order.
There are three themed pools. The largest, the flower-shaped Hippy Dippy Pool, sits behind Classic Hall, with a kiddie pool area with fountains beside it and the Petals Pool Bar serving drinks nearby. Other things to do include Movies Under the Stars, an arcade, a playground and a walking path around Hourglass Lake. The resort's Skyliner station gives direct access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
