GOHA BriefOld Town Kissimmee is an 18-acre open-air entertainment district on US 192, open since December 1986, with more than 70 shops, restaurants, bars, rides and family attractions. It's a family entertainment destination a short drive from the big Orlando parks, with something for the whole family, and suits anyone who likes classic cars, independent shops and rides.
Old Town sits on Highway 192 in Kissimmee, about a mile east of I-4 at exit 67. That puts it a short drive from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld and International Drive, so it's easy to fit in around a theme park trip. Many of the businesses here are run by local independent owners.
A visit is mostly about wandering. You can browse shops selling gifts, nostalgic finds and modern gadgets, then pick from a wide range of places to eat, so picky eaters should be fine. For rides, the Italian-made Ferris wheel rises over 85 feet with views across Kissimmee, and the Hurricane roller coaster is there for anyone who wants more of a thrill. Younger visitors tend to head for Happy Days Family Fun Center, a retro-style arcade, or Rootin & Tootin's Shootin' Alley, a family-friendly shooting gallery.
What stands out are the events. The Saturday Classic Car Show & Cruise is the headline, and a Friday muscle car show is also held. Live music and free events run on the Main Stage through the week. Mortem Manor offers a haunted attraction with live actors and animatronics, and the Great Magic Hall hosts magic shows and sells magic equipment.
