Overview
GOHA BriefBob's Balloon Charters runs customized hot air balloon rides over the Orlando, Kissimmee, Walt Disney World and Davenport areas, with a sunrise flight as its signature trip. It suits early risers, couples marking an occasion, and small groups or families with kids 5 and up who want a quiet look at Central Florida from above.
The company has been flying for more than 20 years and uses over 100 regular takeoff and landing sites across Central Florida. Routes cross Orange, Osceola, Lake and Polk Counties, and where you go on the day depends on which way the wind is blowing.
This is a dawn activity. Pilots fly early because the winds are calmer and the ride is smoother. The balloon drifts low over the treetops, then climbs to about 1,000 feet for views of lakes, wildlife and Orlando landmarks. On some mornings you may spot Disney theme park landmarks, though that depends on conditions and isn't guaranteed. Each basket holds four to six people, and after landing there's a complimentary champagne brunch.
Beyond the standard sunrise ride, Bob's handles private charters, including tethered (captive) flights for events, and can fly advertising banners. People often book for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and engagements, and gift certificates are available. All pilots are commercial FAA certified with about 20 years of experience.
